Interview with Britt Warren
View Artist Profile
Rock music artist, Britt Warren!
Where did you grow up?
Rural North Carolina, on the family farm.
What influenced you to get into music?
There was never really a choice. Music moved me profoundly, from my earliest memory.
At what age did you write your first song?
Around 8 years old.
Were you in bands early on?
Many.
What instruments can you play?
Any that make a musical sound. The one exception would be something like the trumpet. Though I could write arrangements for entire horn sections, I just didn't have the lips for it.
What is a songwriting session like for you?
My song writing experiences vary, from a song dropping into me while driving down the road, to actually dreaming songs and having to get up in the middle of the night to record enough to remember it.
What inspires you to keep doing music?
So far there hasn't been a time when I had a choice. It's my way to paint various portraits of life.
Do you perform live often?
There have been years I have performed live quite often.... now occasionally, but would again under the right circumstances.
Tell us about your latest project.
My latest project is "Dance of Broken Chains", comprised of multi-genre blending compositions. I also released a single this year, featuring Jennifer Kristupis on vocals, entitled "What's with You?"
What can we expect from you in 2020?
I'm in the process of working on a new project now, as well as more singles. They will range from progressive rock, R&B, funk, jazz, blues, etc.
