Larry Potillo

Larry Potillo is an independent ambient jazz and easy listening musician, producer, and keyboard player based in northern New Jersey. He specializes in creating original, non-lyrical instrumental tracks driven by melodic synthesizer loops and smooth rhythms. Larry recorded his many tracks for a Calm and relaxing Musical experience. In 2008 his rare tracks first received notice from CBS Interactive “Last FM” Located in the UK. This lead to the many avenues of opportunities to be heard, which included Spotify also found in the UK. In the field of music the question is asked by one's distributor. ”who do you sound like” This question always caused Larry to cringe and openly say, “I sound like myself!” This of course is not the answer an executive of music or distributor wants to hear, but it's a true thought and from the heart. Larry's first public CD release received a review from the award-winning American music journalist, author, and editor, Nick Deriso. This occurred on 01/03/2011. His review gave Larry a three out of five star. This low feed back was not what Larry was looking for to start the new year. How ever, the mid level review didn't take all the wind out of Larry's creations. in fact, Nick gave ample reasoning to back up his finding. Larry dropped his pride and started rebuilding his confidence to continue his writing the way he truly felt. And over looked the way the industry thinks and expects an artist should be.
